Changing Location Codes

Question:

I need to change a location’s code. How do I do that and insure the history stays intact?

Answer:

You won’t destroy the integrity of the location’s history as long as you don’t make the code change in a way that tries to use an already in-use code.

A key design feature of PubWorks is that the history of the location (or any other record in any other table) is linked via an invisible (to the user) ID and even though code and name identifiers are necessarily unique, they are completely cosmetic from the point of view of associated history.
